iTunes on a Mac

How can I get iTunes on my Mac to show song or video name and location on screen without using 'Get Info'?

Okay, I see what you're saying now. I've always dealt with this problem by hand — sorting the tracks by title, so that the duplicates are listed one after the other, then toggling between them in the Get Info window to compare file paths.

But there may be a better way. You might have a look at this Doug's AppleScript utility called Dupin: https://dougscripts.com/apps/dupinapp.php

I haven't used this particular script but I've got 3 or 4 scripts from Doug's and they're solid and reliable.

You can click in the three-dot symbol that appears to the right of the track name (or else right-click / Control-click / two-finger tap on the track), and from the menu that appears, select "Show in Finder." This will open a Finder window where you can see the media file in its physical location on your drive.

Thanks for the help Richard. Appreciate it, but I have what seems to be many duplicate files in iTunes and previously [on a now deceased PC] I tried deleting one only to find they were the same file and I then had to go searching in the trash for the file.

What I want to do is see the file location and full name of both [duplicates] so I can either delete just the record or need to delete an actual duplicate file.

This seems to be just what i needed. Should be an integral part go iTunes .

i think there might be some more dougscripts i'll find useful, but for now my time is full double checking my nicely trimmed down library.
