iMac 2nd display mirror by default issue.

Hey gang,

I'm connecting a 2nd screen to my iMac and every time I turn on my iMac again, it defaults to mirroring the displays. I have to go to system preferences every time I turn on my computer and uncheck the "Mirror Displays" option.

Is there a way to make that setting stop changing every time I shut down my computer?

My specs are: iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017), Radeon Pro 580 8192 MB, Sierra 10.12.6.

The deviceI I'm connecting to is a standard 1080p HDTV, via HDMI cable.

I'm using the official Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Apple).

Are you shutting your computer down with the shut down or restart option in the apple menu? I'm curious to see if running last in Terminal would show crashes.. I ask because I'm under the impression settings like that save only if the system shutdowns properly.
